Great article. I just wrote a similarly-themed piece that touches on Biden's pardon and Harris' continued fundraising to contest election results. It's horrible optics, and past time for the Dems to get new leadership and an identity centered on actual policy goals.
"what with Iran escalating the Middle East skirmish at the same time."
I quibble with this a bit - I think it is, in fact, Israel that is escalating in the Middle East, the recent ceasefire with Hezbollah not with standing.
Other than that, spot on. If there were any justice in America and/or the world, the last like 6-8 US presidents would be buried under the Hague and Ken Lay would have faced murder charges for every Enron employee who offed themselves after he disintegrated their entire life savings.
But alas.
Also, and I don't mean to temper your optimism, but the replacement for gaetz (one pam bondi) is hardly better but she is far more agreeable to senate republicans. That's bad. It was never going to be true that we weren't going to have a helluva fight on our hands, gaetz or no, and her nomination proves it.
You have a nice way of explaining things that I intuitively knew, but never would have been able to articulate.

Yep. Insane.
