At least bluesky has that lovely nuclear-class block / detach comment option. For all its other bumps & lumps, at least not feeding the trolls has never been easier <3.
I'm at the same point, myself. Got raked over the coals by the big anti-Substack crew (including Anil Dash) for pointing out that Ghost doesn't work for those of us who don't monetize our blogging. Meanwhile, I mirror everything on my website, Dreamwidth, and Ko-fi.
I left Substack for ten months and the price I paid was lack of visibility, and no new followers. All those people loudly advocating that people leave? How many of them actually turned around and supported me? Zero. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Rien. I'll put up those other links on social media, but what gets the clicks?
I’ve found the whole “Nazi” war chant to become just background noise from the Refrigerator Magnet crowd (Left and Right). These folks can’t distinguish between a “Nazi”, a “Fascist”, an “Authoritarian”, etc. If everything is Nazi, then nothing is Nazi. The distinction is lost.
Regarding the “Nazification” of Substack or any other platform…
There are going to be problematic voices on most any platform. The decision point regarding abandoning that forum might be:
“Can I still punch a Nazi on this platform?”
If not, THEN that platform may have moved into the "Gleichschaltung der Presse" realm and it would be time to pull the ripcord.
I've been casually following you on here a while and hadn't made the jump to paid, thanks for the plug of your Ghost! Definitely understand how valuable Substack is for reach but I feel better giving money on a less centralized platform.

true, but is that enough to deal with the deluge of lonely, immature "i-have-the-best-point!"-ers? LOL
I fear the proverbial reply-guys are an Everywhere Problem in this dumbest of timelines.

You guessed it. Substack.
Well done.
Frankly, I had no idea… very educational.

Until that point, I’ll stay on and fight it out.
Thanks again.
