Okay but that scene of McClane launching a police cruiser into a helicopter was pretty fucking badass, though.

Holy shit, I'd never spent a lot of brainpower on Requiem, like had wholly forgotten it existed until this post. Now I'm deeply upset...ugh

Anyway 100% agree on the 4th being not that crappy! It was the first I saw in the theaters at least (the part at the very end where the guy goes back to the storage area in the final ship solely to get killed was real real dumb though)

Alien was the first R rated movie I was allowed to see. Blew my mind.

I was pretty disappointed at the lack of nudity, however.

Shortly after that I got to see Life of Brian.

Frankly, more nudity than I was looking for.

Whoa, Life of Brian was rated R? That's hilarious.

I can't remember if I saw an R rated movie earlier but the first one I remember seeing in the cinema, because I'd only just turned old enough to get in, was Hannibal, the Silence of the Lambs sequel, which was a big controversy at the time because the Australian government changed their mind and upped its rating while it was playing, entirely because there's a scene where Hannibal cuts out and cooks a little bit of Ray Liotta's brain while he's still alive. Turned out not to be anywhere near as graphic as that sounds.

Did you watch the theatrical cut of Alien 3 or the Assembly cut?

I actually have no idea - whichever one is on Disney Plus

That's the theatrical cut, the assembly cut is worth seeking out imo. It adds half an hour of footage while cutting some dubious stuff.

The first act is expanded to allow the movie to actually set an atmosphere, particularly with regards to the prison cult, with the supporting cast generally getting a lot more development (especially Dance and Mcgann's characters).

Personally I think the ending is way better too, with the cheesy last-minute chestbuster being totally removed, lending way more dignity to the climax. It's still an incomplete movie, but it's far closer to fulfilling that wasted potential you mentioned.
